Ingredients :

For banana and almond layer:
1 small banana, peeled, sliced
½ cup nonfat milk
¼ cup crushed ice
5 almonds
For kale and date layer:
1 Medjool date, pitted, chopped
1/8 cup crushed ice
1 cup chopped kale, discard hard stem and ribs, torn
For blueberry layer:
A handful blueberries
¼ cup crushed ice
1/8 cup water
1 teaspoon flaxseed meal or protein powder
For strawberry layer:
3 – 4 strawberries, hulled
½ cup crushed ice
1/8 cup nonfat milk
1 teaspoon flaxseed meal or protein powder

Directions :

1. For the banana and almond layer: Blend banana, almond, milk, and ice into a blender. Blend for 30-40 seconds or until smooth and thick.
2. Pour the smoothie into a glass. Place the glass in the freezer. Clean the blender.
3. For the kale and date layer: Add kale, dates, and ice into a blender. Blend for 30-40 seconds or until smooth and thick.
4. Pour the smoothie gently over the banana and almond layer gently. Clean the blender.
5. For the blueberry layer: Add blueberries, ice, water, and flaxseed meal into a blender. Blend for 30-40 seconds or until smooth and thick.
6. Gently pour the smoothie over the kale and date layer. Place the glass in the freezer. Clean the blender.
7. For the strawberry layer: Add strawberries, ice, milk, and flaxseed meal into a blender. Blend for 30-40 seconds or until smooth and thick.
8. Pour the smoothie gently over the blueberry layer.
9. Serve right away.
